Stories of changing water into gasoline sounds a bit like the old quest of the old Alchemist to change lead into gold.  A seeming impossibility, your car does what it does by burning gasoline and using part of the energy to give it a forward motion.

And off-course to make it even more appealing we there are a lot of conspiracy theories floating around with mysteriously disappearing inventors and nasty cases of arsenic poisoning

Still how can we expect to run a car on water.

Fire and water are lousy team-members when it comes to operating a combustion engine?

Anyone who has ever extinguished a small non chemical fire with water can tell you that water doesn’t burn. Putting some gasoline on the flames will show the exact opposite results, flames will burst in all directions, leaving with a fire that is completely out of control.

Heavy crude oil doesn’t burn like gasoline, you can almost endlessly try to light it but it won’t work. If we want to use it as a propellant you will need to increase the temperature or pressurize it. The pressurization increases the temperature of the fuel to a point where the diesel will self ignite.

The water fueled car depends somewhat on this principle. The chemical composition water is 2 hydrogen molecules and one oxygen molecule or H2O. Hydrogen gas mixed with Oxygen is highly flammable. Mix it at an 2:1 ratio and the result is HHO or Oxyhydrogen. Here we have a very convenient truth by the tale, water does exactly match this two to one ratio.

Oxyhydrogen produces a very hot, very energy rich flame. If we mix this stuff with the normal gasoline/air vapor used by your cars engine, the pressure at which we burn it will increase as well. In this process the HHO is pressurized and burns at an even higher more explosive temperature.

Magic!!! But is there a catch? Yes, the process of breaking up H2O into 2H2 and O2 is know for ages. In my early years most boys knew how to do it. You take a bowl of water:

Add an acid like substance to facilitate the flow of electrons,

• two electrodes, (we used the carbon sticks from old batteries)
• hang them at opposite ends in the water and apply an electric current.

Immediately bubbles will form at both electrodes, the cathode will produce twice as many bubbles as does the anode. So we produce twice as much hydrogen as we do oxygen. If you capture these gasses and ignite them BOOOOOM. Even a small amount was enough to have my mother ground me for a week, and when my production facility banged itself through the window into the neighbor’s garden she was not amused.

The equitation becomes, Water, H2 O2 Energy relief —> water

The beauty of the process lies in the fact that the only waste product you produce is WATER. Burn HHO and the result is water plus heat! So we change water into water and drive a car!

And the Catch ?

The catch lies in the energy needed to get the process going. The amount of energy needed for the electrolysis of water is by definition greater than the amount of energy we receive when we but the HHO. It’s like a rechargeable battery, the amount of power you need to feed it is greater than what you get out of it. There are always losses in energy conversion. And like the battery the Oxyhydrogen is an energy carrier and not a producer.

So Possible or not

I will be the last to say that this problem can never be overcome, but I have seem no prove of it so-far. Digging through all available information there is no prove that the water4fuel technique or any other has overcome this basic problem. They seem to avoid the issue and throw a lot of unproven theory at you. If it works, conduct a test and show me the figures. And personally I would be
